IAGP is a leading global organization dedicated to advancing the field of group psychotherapy and group processes. For half a century, IAGP has promoted, advanced, and advocated for the transformative power of groups, serving as a beacon of unity and bridging cultures, disciplines, and methodologies.
One of IAGP´s most significant achievements is fostering an international community. We work hard to break down geographical, cultural, and language barriers, uniting professionals from diverse backgrounds and facilitating cross-cultural dialogue, enriching the field with a global perspective.
IAGP has been instrumental in the international development of group interventions in clinical practice, consultancy, education, research, and socio-cultural settings. Recently, IAGP has also provided resources and support for social and collective traumas.
We invite individual members and IAGP Affiliated organizations to join our efforts to promote interdisciplinary dialogue, integrate knowledge, broaden perspectives, and develop innovative approaches that meet the unique needs of individuals and communities, including those facing wars, displacements, and other traumatic conditions.
The future of our field lies in the hands of the next generation. Let us invest in the professional development of emerging young professionals to ensure the continued growth and vitality of group psychotherapy and group processes.

Membership is open to trained group psychotherapists, consultants and group leaders who are sponsored by a professional who is familiar with their work with groups. Special membership fees are available for retired professionals and students. Student memberships are welcome from students enrolled in institutional training programs or university studies in group psychotherapy or group processes.
The community of IAGP is arranged into six special interest sections in family therapy, group analytic group work, psychodrama, organizational consultancy and transcultural issues. In latest section to be added was the young professionals section and was established by the board in early September 2013. Members may belong to multiple sections at once.
The aim of the Family Therapy Section is to offer to professionals who are working with families and couples throughout the world a containing forum to communicate by exchanging experience, sharing expertise and expressing reflections on clinical, theoretical, social as well as cultural issues of family therapy and family dynamics. The Analytic Group Section (formerly Group Analysis) aims to facilitate the exchange of information and viewpoints between group analysts and others interested in furthering the practice of group analysis throughout the world. Our aim is to serve as an international professional-scientific forum dedicated to the exchange of knowledge and ideas and the advancement of psychodrama, and to organize workshops and presentations at IAGP congresses. We values and supports young professionals and calls them to become part of IAGP, to share about their research and case studies in our discussion list and to participate and present their works in the regional and international conferences.
